There was a princess who made a wish off of anything she could: a shooting star, a dandelion, a white horse, "the first star I see tonight," birthday candles and so on. Until one day, she decided to stop making her wishes and her prayers and decided to take matters into her own hands. Soon she went through two years of highs and lows in dating. Then she finally realized that she couldn't do it on her own, so she told the King that she would wait for him to choose for her and that she will patiently wait. After hearing the news he waited and saw that she was happy being who she was, he presented her with her handsome prince.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Let's change out a few things:
The princess is any woman who has tried the dating game and failed to find her prince.
The King is our heavenly King who sees us trying our hardest and waits patiently for us to realize that we cannot go through this life without his guidance, especially when it comes to finding our prince.
I am positive that there are many women who have gone years of dating to find "the one." I have.
Fortunately, it isn't up to us. If it were up to me, I would probably be with some jerk who is just looking for a good time. When God intervenes, he shows us how much he loves us by presenting us with either a man that will prepare us for our one and only, or he gives us him right away.
I never would have imagined who I am with now to be my true love, but after years of meaningless relationships, I finally told God that I am going to be content as a single woman in Him. That's when the tides changed. He made my paths cross with someone I never saw myself dating, but in trusting His plan and seeking His will in everything, we are planning on a marriage.
I am sure no one wants to hear my love story, but for those who are preparing a life with someone, I am sure your story looks similar.
We cannot rely solely on our judgement when finding the person that we will be together with "till death do us part."
God's plan is far greater than our own.
So for those of you who are still wishing on anything you can find, just breathe. Be patient, and trust that God knows what he is doing.
