There are few things better than moving from picket-fenced Fairfield County, Connecticut to sunny Southern California for your college years. While for me this was a dream come true, there are some parts of the Northeast that you simply cannot take out of a Northeaster...
1. The ability to experience every season. From 90 degrees in the summer to 30 degrees in the winter, you truly get the best of both worlds.
2. Dunkin Donuts, America, more like the Northeast runs on Dunkin Donuts, and it is a tragedy I have yet to see one in California.
3. The ability to train or drive anywhere in a short amount of time, whether that is simply into NYC or to the Adirondacks for the weekend.
4. The mix of countryside and the hubs of NYC to Boston.
5. The epidemic of Ugg boots from November to whenever it is no longer acceptable to wear them.
6. The long lines well worth the wait for Shake Shack burgers (especially NYC’s), which honestly puts In-N-Out to shame.
7. The innate patriotism because you are from one of the 13 original colonies.
8. Being able to frequent NYC and being able to see Broadway shows before the rest of the country.
9. The fact that you are never too far from the ocean.
10. And lastly, the beautiful oranges, pinks, and yellows of the trees in the fall.
