Are You Ready For Some Football?!?
The long wait is finally over. It's football season once again! We can finally do something on Sunday's besides watching replays of the best games from last season on the NFL Network. Fan's of all 32 NFL teams are getting excited to see if this the year for there team. Being a Philadelphia Eagles fan, I have little expectations (just like every year) and I am honestly expecting the worse. This week, I will be highlighting the NFC conference and looking at the winner in each division. Please note that I will not be predicting records and I will also highlight the wildcard's to come out of the NFC. With out further ado, lets talk some football!
NFC East
As an Eagles fan, this kills me to say but it is the unfortunate realization of that the Giants are the best team in the NFC East. That unfortunately doesn't mean much because a losing record can still win you the NFC East. Odell Beckham is going to continue to ball out and now with a healthy Victor Cruz and a nice young rookie in Sterling Sharpe cause the week NFC East defenses some trouble. There defense may be weak but I see this team making a strong push just on there offense alone.
NFC West
Winner - Seattle Seahawks
Wild Card - Arizona Cardinals
This a two team division and both the Arizona and Seattle have a chance to win this division but I'm giving it to Seattle this year. Marshawn Lynch may have retired but The Legion Boom will bounce back from a somewhat disappointing season and be as dominate as they usually are. Russel Wilson will also continue to be the most consistent QB in the NFL. It will be a hard fought battle but this division will run through Seattle.
Not to far behind will be the Arizona Cardinals taking the first wildcard spot. The Cardinals had an incredible season last year. The experienced Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald just got a one year extension and Palmer was in MVP voting last year. You can't forget that talented defense headlined by the LSU duo of Patrick Peterson and Tyron Mathieu. This team will easily get a wildcard spot and I think they can make a deep playoff run.
NFC South
Winner - Carolina Panthers
Wildcard - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Is it really any question who is going to win this division? Superman Cam Newton is the reigning MVP and will probably be just as hot as he was last season. He is dangerous running the ball and has a cannon for an arm. Not to also mention, he has a fantastic defense helping him. Luke Kuechly is the best linebacker in the NFL so there is nothing to worry about there. Josh Norman may have departed but I think he is really overrated and will not be missed much. The NFL's runner ups will make another deep run and maybe even make a second super bowl appearance.
In the wildcard spot here, is the surprising Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jameis Winston is a star in the making. His pocket presence is already very impressive and I think he can really make the jump to a playoff QB in his second year. This defense will also continue to improve and basically the regression of the rest of division will lead this team to a wild card spot.
NFC North
Winner - Minnesota Vikings
Wildcard - Green Bay Packers
The division will run through Minnesota again! This was a surprise team last year and I expect them to continue there momentum from last year. AP is the best running back in the league and even though he is getting up there in age, he is going too lead the league in rushing. Teddy Bridgewater will have another year of development under his belt and this defense will continue to impress. This team was a missed field goal away from winning against Seattle so this team will be dangerous.
