We all have those playlists for everything we do. Whether it is working out, studying, road trips, etc. we have them. Not only do I write for Odyssey, but I write stories in my free time. I need help getting my creative juices following, and music does just that. So here are some of my favorite songs to listen to, to help get my creative juices flowing.
1. Never Stop (Wedding Version) by SafetySuit
Most of my stories are love songs and this song I can picture as my wedding song. It is not an overuse love song and is the definition of the type of guy I want to marry.
2. Perfect by One Direction
I am not a big fan of the band, but this song brings back great memories of those late night closing shifts at the restaurant where I worked in high school and my first year of college. It gives me those happy vibes I need when I’m writing.
3. Stand by Me by Ben E. King
Just one of those classic songs that have lasted many years. It gives the lows of a relationship, but someone can remain strong as long as they stand by each other.
4. I Won’t Let Go by Rascal Flats
The only male country band that I listen to regularly. This song is another song that I can see dancing at my wedding. It tells how a man can be strong for his wife and help her up.
5. Any song by Adele
Adele has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. I just get lost in my little world when I’m listening to her music, which is great when I am writing. It helps me from getting distracted from the busy outside world.
6. Still Falling for You by Ellie Golding
Recently added to my playlist, this song is just a pump up a song that is also a great love song. Featured in my favorite movie, Bridget Jones Baby, too.
