The Mom Bod. Some may call this a rebuttal against the recently famous “dad bod," but I prefer to call this the truth. What would happen if all of a sudden girls across the country stopped working out and decided to eat that extra slice of pizza instead? The male population would freak out. What is a “mom bod" you ask? Well, it is basically a dad bod for females. Since the dad bod is described as “not overweight, but not possessing a six pack" the mom bod can be summarized as “it's on the inside what matters, but definitely lacking a thigh gap."
Frat boys all over America would start writing articles on “why mom bods should be illegal" and “parental body types are for men only." Well, maybe instead of going to that extra Zumba class this Monday, I decide to go out for pizza and down a few beers with my lady friends. Girls that drink beer are cool, right? Sure, there are some men who prefer their ladies with a flat stomach and a fit behind, but the mom bod can open the doors for much, much more. What exactly comes along with a mom bod you ask? Let's take a look:
1. More to love.
A woman with a mom bod will always have something to grab on to. You will never feel like you're going to snap her like a twig with those strong arms of yours.
2. The super trendy high-waisted EVERYTHING.
In order to create the illusion that the mom bod has a slim waist, the obvious answer is to make every article of clothing high waisted. Guys are super into the shorts that resemble a “diaper" as they say, right?
3. The food.
Let's be real. Guys are probably just dying to spend more money on us, right? Well here is your chance; girls with mom bods are in no way shy when in comes to ordering seconds. Did someone just say dessert?
4. You know what they'll look like down the road.
Who wants to play the guessing game when it comes to what their girlfriend will look like in ten years? Why would a guy want to see his girl wearing all the “normal" college clothing that hugs the skin and shows off all of their assets. Wouldn't they much rather enjoy looking at a nice pair of mom jeans instead? There will be no surprises with the mom bod.
5. Great conversation.
What guy doesn't want to listen to his girlfriend complain about how she wishes she looked like that super model on the cover of her favorite magazine. Guys love that kind of stuff right?
Take this as you please, my friends. Although some men may love a good mom bod, most of them are planning their next workout at the gym in fear that this epidemic may spread worldwide. Dad bods go both ways, boys. If you plan to slack off and get lazy, that means the girls have just as much grounds to do the same.
