The infamous quote is, "There's no place like home." But really, it should be saying, "There's no place like Massachusetts." Besides the copious amounts of snow we get slammed with in the winter and the horrific driving we all seem to share, Massachusetts is the best place to grow up and live in, and here's why.
The man, the myth, the legend, Tom Brady. We will defend this man until the day we die. Besides his stellar quarterback skills, his picture perfect family, and amazing physique only makes him more iconic. We all like to act like we personally know him with no shame at all. Plus, his reaction to winning the 2015 Superbowl against the Seahawks will make you get all fuzzy inside even on your worst days. No matter what the haters says, he is and will be the best quarterback of all time.
To talk about geographics, it's not "Cape Cod," it's The Cape. With beautiful sandy dunes stretching for miles and the one-of-a-kind cottages that line the streets, it is like no other place in the U.S. Its the hot spot for all ages with beach side bars and giant grassy parks for kids.
Next, there is the one and only type of clam chowder that should ever be is served, especially in Massachusetts- New England Clam Chowder. Clams and tomatoes should never be mixed, and Boston is (unfortunately) the place we found that out. If you disagree, don't even bother crossing the border because you will soon be thrown out by all the locals.
Again, yes, we say wicked, yes, we know you don't understand what it means, and yes, we know you hate it. Its as if it is genetically embedded in anyone who has lived in MA for more than a few years. Everything is "wicked cool" and "wicked funny." Nothing will ever change, so stop calling us out for it!
Along with Tom Brady, the Red Sox and Fenway Park are extremely symbolic and historical gem to our capital, Boston. It is the oldest ballpark in the MLB and holds over 37,000 roaring sox fans. Although you'll need your life savings in order to purchase a Fenway frank and cold beer, there is no comparison to sitting in the warm sun with family and friends watching Big Papi hit home-run after home-run.
"Do you live near Boston?" There answer to this question is most likely no, but that doesn't mean we don't take pride in having the greatest city of all time being our capital. Boston was home to some of the first immigrants to our country and holds a huge historical significance.
Recently, in 2013, we endured Boston Marathon Bombings. With this tragedy, we came together, and united. We came together as a state, as locals, and as individuals who love our city and love where we come from. No one can ever taint the image Boston, Massachusetts has. The beauty of our amazing city will forever live on, no matter who tries to destroy it. Coming from Massachusetts is a blessing. We are a giant family, and regardless of what part we come from, we are Boston Strong, and pretty damn proud of it.
