You don’t have to worry about finding a date for anything. Whether it’s formal, a date party, or really just anywhere, in general, you don’t have to scramble to find a date. Also, you’re pretty much guaranteed a yes.
The two of you can talk about anything. If you’ve been dating the same person for a long time, you’re most likely best friends at this point. And best friends tell each other everything- nothing is too personal or too embarrassing.
You have a never-ending well of support. You’re always there for them, and they’re always there for you. You’re there for each other through achievements, loss, and any hard times that you might be struggling through. Their happiness is yours, just like their sadness is yours also, and vice versa.
The pair of you has a lot of memories together. The two of you have been through some of life’s biggest moments- graduations, dances, not-so-great days, birthdays, holidays… the list goes on and on.
You’ve met more people because of each other. I’ve met some awesome people through my boyfriend, just like he’s made new friends through me. You usually end up becoming friends with people you never thought you would have a chance to talk to.
You can rely on them to be honest to you about anything. Whether you’re asking them about a new dress you bought or something more serious, you can count on them to give you the truth.
You have someone who shares many of the same interests. You might both love the same restaurant (like Panda Express), have a similar hobby, or watch the same T.V. shows. Whatever it is, you never have to watch The Office alone or look around for someone to watch a Blackhawks game with you.
You always have someone to keep you warm. It’s like having your own personal space heater that goes wherever you go. Cold feet or hands? Not a problem anymore.
The two of you know how to make each other laugh. It's easy, especially if you both have a similar sense of humor, to make the other laugh when they need it most. Making my significant other laugh is definitely one of my daily goals I strive for every day.
- One word: compliments. The two of you love to flatter each other, and have gotten really good at it during your time together. You two mean every word and know just the right thing to say to cheer the other one up.
- Doing daily chores becomes an adventure when you do them together. Laundry, homework, etc. becomes way more enjoyable when you do them together. Also helpful, like when you use your significant other as a math tutor.
- There’s always someone to come back to. When you’re out running around to classes, meetings, and other various activities, it’s great coming back to one of your favorite people in the world. It’s also something to look forward to while you’re busy with other things.
- You have someone who loves you, no matter what embarrassing things you’ve done. Whether you’re really bad at dancing (like I am), or you tend to trip over things a lot, or you laugh too much at something that wasn’t that funny, your significant other still loves you. In the end, what else do you need besides that?
