You are soaring 12,000 feet above the ground. You are standing right on the edge of the plane and looking down at the small tiny scenery below. Your guide nudges you forward. This is your moment. Are you going to jump or chicken out?
You are sitting in a leather chair. Your portfolio is beside you and your resume is in your hand. You try to think of all of the questions that your new potential boss might ask you. The receptionist calls your name and says, “They’re ready for you.” This is your moment. Do you sit in your chair or go in and nail the interview?
You are sitting in English class and your crush is sitting right next to you. Is today the day you finally say hello to them, or are you just going to pretend they don’t exist?
One little step or word could change your life. So what do you do? Do you take that jump or watch life pass you by? You face this question every day.
I’ll tell you what to do. You jump! For once in your life; don’t think, just do.
So, here’s to the risk-takers! Way to go out and live life to the fullest. Way to take that risk and not have any regrets. Way to create the memories that you WILL look back on when you’re old and grey.
And now, let's address the ‘fradie cats'.
What are you so afraid of? Life is all about the choices you make and the risks you take. Now, I’m not pressuring you to make bad choices. Don’t go out and do drugs. If you’re afraid of heights, don’t feel pressure to jump out of a plane, but go out and do something. Jump on a train or get on a plane and fly somewhere crazy.
If you’re poor like me, you can still go out and be the risk-taker. Go out and get that job you want. Talk to that guy or girl that sits right next to you in class.
Or, if you want something even more easy to do, walk around and be yourself. Don’t be what the world expects you to be. Be who you want to be, do what you want to do. Most importantly, speak your mind. Don’t hinder yourself by not being true to yourself.
If you want another idea, take a risk and talk to someone outside of your friend zone. Or participate in an activity that you wouldn’t normally do.
Taking a risk can be as easy as stepping outside of your comfort zone.
So ‘fradie cats, take a lesson from the risk-takers: go out and live life to the fullest. I hate to use this cliché term, but YOLO- you only live once.
When you're laying on your death bed, your whole life is going to flash in front of your face. You don’t want to be regretting things that you didn’t do. If anything, you should be regretting the stuff you did do.
To the risk-takers, you just keep on doing what you're doing.
So here’s your chance. Take that jump. Shake that employer's hand and go confidently into that interview. Say hello to that crush of yours, but most importantly, keep taking risks.
