As I recently lost a friend from high school, I have been realizing the real importance to life. Life goes by pretty fast and, for some, ends too soon. This tragedy has made me think about a lot, and gain such a new and clear perspective.
I can recall a few times leaving work, being genuinely distraught by the way some customers treated me and servers. People flip out over the littlest, minuscule problems that in a day won't even matter. It astounds me how many people legitimately get upset over things that are not even problems like having to wait in line, traffic, not getting that booth, not getting that parking spot, etc. Really? It's going to ruin your whole night just because you didn't get what you wanted? Well sometimes, that’s just how life happens.
People I go to school with can get so fed up in the newest drama or gossip. That isn't kind. That isn't mature. People, let alone adults, should not be full of meanness and hatred. Be civil with everyone, even if you do not get along with someone, there is always room to be respectful.
It makes me feel sick to my stomach when I see people make huge deals out of nothing. Is this drama really necessary right now? Something probably just lingered into your mind that’s been bothering you. Put in perspective whether whatever’s going on that’s bothering you will matter in a day, a week, a month, a year? People often don't think about how ignorant they can appear for overreacting to something that isn't worth it. Sure, we’re all used to disappointment here and there, but that’s just the way it is sometimes. Life can be a roller coaster, year by year, but it is up to you to make the most of it.
I am not writing this to complain about petty interactions I have witnessed, but to draw the conclusion that life is short and unpredictable. So if you love someone, tell them. Let them know every day how much they mean to you. If you fight with someone, make up, because you don't know when is the next time that you'll see them. If you're angry, take a pause and breathe. Be lucky and happy for your health. Embrace your family and friendships, as they are so important to having a happy life. Life can be questionable and make no sense sometimes. People can make actions that are full of hate. It is up to you to be the difference you wish to see in the world. Live your life to the fullest.
