To the girl I used to know,
You're weak, confused, used, and still have not acknowledged that you are the only person that does not see yourself in that way. People look down on you, and at the same time they are only after getting what they want. They laugh at you and make fun of you behind your back, yet you are the one breaking yours to do try to keep them as so-called "friends". Honestly, you do not know at this time that they treat you like that. You actually believe that they are the cool kids, and they are your friends.
You were always the one stuck in between, you aren't the prettiest girl in school and your not the best player on the softball or basketball team. But people still look at you as competition because you have what it takes to be great. Honestly, you were taken for granted, you had a decent looking body and that was all that the boys cared about in middle school but you still did not let them get to you at that time. They fed you lie after lie and worked so hard to make it seem like the truth. One day you finally gave into all of the pressure and let a boy that could care less for you take the one thing that you had left.
After you move schools in high school you see how different people treat you, how much nicer they are to you the first few days. But after the first few days you realize that they are just as much as the same people that were at your old school, just to different people, then you realize how people were to you and how they talked so badly about you. They want you to be on their side and help them make people feel small, but that just is not what you want to do, so you make friends with the people that are more like you in a way. The "underdogs" so to speak.
Well, it's moving time again. You decide to go to a smaller school further away from your past two other schools, and it is a complete game changer. You go from being in a class of 80 to a class of six people, little did you know this school changed your life. You went from being so small to being one of the biggest, this was the boost you needed for yourself to start living your life with your head high and a positive attitude. Your teachers care so much about you and your future that they push you to do your best.
After high school you find out who your real friends are, I believe. They are the ones that will stick around after you graduate and be with you almost every day. Those friends are the ones that you should never lose, they do not come around often. But to the girl I used to know, one day you will be great. You will be even more generous and kind to others. Also, you will do whatever you can to help someone before you even think about helping yourself, even if they do not deserve it. You're going to be just fine.
