Dear mom, momma, mumu, mommy, or anything else I have ever called you,
First off, Happy Mother's day to you; without you, I mean, I wouldn't really be here typing this. I am so grateful to be able to call you my mom. You are so caring, kindhearted, independent, outgoing, with a little mix of lazy. You never cease to disappoint me with all of your crazy life stories, that somehow end up happening to me at some point in time in my life. And when I say that I mean there is no mistaking that I am in fact your daughter. Which some days makes me crazy, because we seem to have the worst luck, but then again also some of the best because of how successful we are.
I have a lot to thank you for, so I figured a list of all of them would be more heartfelt than me just telling you them on a random day to day basis.
Well momma, lets get started.
1. I am thankful you put me on this planet.
2. You know how to make me laugh.
3. You still text me "good morning i love you" and "good night i love you" every day even though I'm away at college two hours from home.
4. I can count on you to answer your phone at peak hours of the morning.
5. Your food makes not only my tummy happy, but my heart.
6. You motivate me to do anything I set my mind to.
7. You always know what to say, and when to say it.
8. You also know when to let me talk and when I need you to just listen.
9. You've made my sister and me such strong individuals.
10. Your passion for helping others inspires me.
11. I love that you still baby me. Not only when I'm sick, but whenever I come home.
12. You will never let me forget that I am the baby of the family, and will always be your little girl.
13. You make my bed, which I am still extremely grateful for.
14. You still do my laundry when I come home.
15. Your driving still freaks me out, but I am thankful you always drove my friends and me around when we were younger.
16. Our Burger King runs when I was little were something I loved.
17. Even though you hate shopping, I love how excited you get when we bring you home something new.
18. Your smile can light up an entire room.
19. You may hate pictures, but the ones we do have together never fail to make me smile when I see them.
20. I love how excited you get when Julia reads you my weekly blogs, hence why this one is for you and all about you.
21. Thank you for cooking at least five meals for dinner until everyone had something they wanted.
22. Thank you for supporting all of my decisions.
23. Thank you for never failing to make me laugh.
24. Thank you for all the advice.
25. Thank you for teaching me table manners.
26. Thank you for teaching me manners in general.
27. Thank you for accepting that I had to study abroad.
28. Even more important picking Ireland! Momma, I'm going to Ireland!
29. Thank you for never missing a sporting event.
30. And driving me from one game to the next on the same day.
31. Thank you for all you did for Grandpa and all you do for Grandma.
32. I promise to start thanking you more.
33. You know already, but I am so lucky.
34. Thank you for all the different animals we had throughout our childhood, especially my puppies.
35. Thank you for making me feel beautiful.
36. Halfway thank you for giving me your flaws.
37. Let's face it; there is no mistaking that I am your daughter.
38. Thank you for teaching me how to love.
39. Teaching me when and how to speak my mind and opinions.
40. Thank you for hugging me, even when I don't hug back.
41. Thank you for having my big sister before me, 'cause that's my best friend.
42. Thank you for putting my needs before yours.
43. Thank you for coming to Adrian college, and loving it as much as me, because I know you hate long car rides.
44. Thank you for putting up with all my crap for the past 19 years.
45. Thank you for making me the woman that I am today.
46. Thank you for teaching me how to use duct tape.
47. Thank you for making me confident even when it is harder for me.
48. Thank you for wearing the Adrian College MOM shirt loud and proud with your wine glass in your hand.
49. Thank you for being you, and more.
50. Thank you for being not only my mother, but my best friend.
I can only hope that one day I am half the woman you are. The successful, inspirational, wonderful human being that you are. You are loved by so many people on this planet, and I love being able to call you my mom. And let's face it, there is no mistaking that I am your daughter. The klutziness and bad luck prove it all. One day I hope to be able to give you everything you deserve and more. I hope to send you to Hawaii, on a black sand beach with Auntie Elaine to your left and us girls on the right! I love you, you crazy lady. Have a wonderful Mothers Day, because one day I hope to be able to give you the world. Thank you for not only being there for me, but for all the people that consider you there second mom.
