A Letter To My Little Sisters

To the girls I would do anything for.

A Letter To My Little Sisters
Olivia Atzen

You girls are the most beautiful and amazing people in my life, and I can never express to you how happy I am that God picked you two to be my little mini me's.

Driving you to school, picking you up, running you around for practices or to friends houses; all these things I complain about and hate every time I have to do them. Whether it's waking me up at 7 AM when you're trying to be quiet while stealing clothes from my closet, hearing you scream because you got the brush stuck in your hair, or fighting with each other about who gets the last frozen waffle, it's these little things that'll mean the most to me when I am gone away at college and don't have them anymore.

Alyssa: You are so athletic and smart and beautiful. I know you have the brightest future coming for you. Stay in sports and always put your best effort in girl; it'll take you so far. And, please keep using that big head of yours; not only will it carry you through school, but it will keep you out of trouble (unlike me). Stay away from girls who start drama because they only want to see you get worked up about it. I'm not going to tell you to stay away from boys because I know you'll fall for a cute baseball player, or, who knows, maybe the star quarterback; I know you'll be totally mesmerized by his beauty, and that's okay because everyone needs some love in their life. But, what I will tell you is do not ever let a boy tell you that you are less than he is; do not let a boy treat you anything less than what you know you deserve. Boys suck. They will hurt you, but you just need to know that your happiness is what's important, and no one can take that away from you.

Ava: You are such a beautiful ball of fire. So much energy and knowledge crammed into such a little body, and I just don't understand how it is possible. Your future is going to be so bright. Keep putting yourself out there and loving all the attention you get. Don't be shy around people; just be nice and loving like you always are. You're so young and have so far to go, but don't get ahead of yourself and don't wish to grow up too fast. Take it one day at a time and have fun, because before you know it, you'll be a senior in high school waiting for an acceptance letter from your number one choice school. Spend time with your friends and make some amazing memories.

I know I'm leaving you soon, but when I leave don't forget how beautiful and talented you two are.

Love you guys.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
