A Letter To My Boyfriend's Parents

Six years with your son is a long, long time. But, I haven't only spent those years with him, I've also spent them with you. This letter serves as a giant thank-you for everything you've done for me. It never goes unappreciated and I am so thankful for having a second family that loves me so well.

Thank you for making me feel welcome.

From countless meals, to holidays, to vacations, you always think to include me and I can't express enough what that means to me. From day one I have felt a part of your family and I owe that to your hospitality and your graciousness towards me. I have always been able to be myself around you and feel at home and I thank you both so much for that.

Thank you for taking me on adventures I could have never dreamed of.

Before I started dating Matthew, I knew nothing about sports, but you all have made me an avid Georgia, ECU, Nationals, Hurricanes and NASCAR fan. Tagging along on family beach trips has also been such a fun adventure and no matter how many times we go to Atlantic Beach, I cherish it just the same. Seeing and doing brand new things is such a gift, so thank you for inviting me.

Thank you for loving me for me.

You have watched me grow from a freshman in high school to a junior in college. You've seen all the awkward stages in between. But, through the growth you have supported me and encouraged me. You've played a role in giving me courage and boldness to chase my dreams and stand up for what I believe in. So, thank you for always loving me for exactly who I have grown to be and encouraging me every step of the way,

Thank you for raising my best friend.

Matthew has the best qualities of both of you and I can never, ever thank you enough for raising a man that respects me and cares for me so well. It is so rare to see a young man be so thoughtful, protective and responsible as he is and that is just a reflection of the examples you both are to him. He is my very best friend and I am so grateful that he was raised to be the man he is.

You both mean so much to me, and this is only a small portion of what I have to thank you for. I love ya'll!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
