From an incredibly grateful daughter, to her loving parents

A Letter To My Parents Before I Graduate College
Scott Cohen

Dear Mom and Dad,

Words cannot describe how grateful I am to you both. Everything that I have done over the past four years I could not have done without your support, love, and absolute faith. No matter what I did you had faith in me, and you continued to support every decision I made. Without you, I could not have gotten through the last four years. I did so much, and there is no way I could have done any of it if I hadn't had both of you by my side and cheering me on.

Dad: You're my hero. You're the man who has kept me grounded, and has given me everything I need to get me through the years. Your consistent support and love has made me the woman I am today, and it has made me ready for anything that can come my way. Your constant love, and unconditional support has made me consistently grow as a young woman, and a human being.

Mom: You're the greatest person I know. You're the person I look up to the most and the only person who I know will be. All those times I called you stressed out beyond belief, crying my eyes out are not forgotten ever. You talked me down, and helped me get calm, and there is nothing more that I could appreciate.

You both have always been there to listen to my problems, and listen to me be angry about something as silly as a group project, or some issue with a friend. You've always listened to me, and you have never told me that my problems are silly, or unimportant.

This short letter is not even scraping the surface with the appreciation that I have for you. There is no way that I could ever begin to describe how grateful I am to have had all the opportunities I've had because of you. I've been the luckiest person on the planet because I was raised by both of you.

Thank you so much and I love you more than I could ever say.

Your forever grateful daughter,
Hannah

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
