For nine long seasons, "One Tree Hill" had me crying tears of joy and sadness. From breakups, to deaths, to happy marriages, Tree Hill High School did not have a shortage of drama. Throughout those ups and downs, each season was jam packed with life lessons.

1. Is it me? Am I the reason people always leave?

Payton Sawyer had a rough nine seasons. Through all of that, she taught you that although you may lose people along the way, it has nothing to do with you as a person. People will leave and that's OK, because the important ones will stay.

2. You deserve to be fought for.

Brooke Davis taught you that you deserve to be fought for. You deserve someone to prove to you how much you matter to them.

3. Life's too short.

Payton taught you that life is too short to let people change you. Be yourself and those who accept that will be there for you. Those worthy of being in your life won't try to change who you are.

4. Know who are the good ones, and who are the bad ones.

Jamie Scott is arguably the best part of "One Tree Hill". Bad things will happen to good people and that's life. But hearing this quote come out of Jamie Scott's mouth makes everything okay in the end. Things will turn around.

5. It's OK to need someone.

Brooke Davis is the queen of independence. She teaches you that it's OK to need someone. Everybody needs someone to need them.

6. Appreciate the time you have with the people you are surrounded by.

Life is so short. Cherish every moment that you have with your loved ones before it's too late.

7. After the hurt, it gets better.

For a young boy, Jamie Scott is full of wisdom. He teaches us that it's OK to cry and show a little bit of weakness sometimes. After all, crying out your tears makes room for more smiles!

8. Stand up for yourself.

Know your worth. Brooke Davis teaches us to stand up for ourselves. You deserve nothing less than to be treated and loved how you deserve to be.

9. Live in the moment and live for you.

Carpe diem. Don't wait forever. If you want something, go get it.

10. You are who you let yourself be.

Brooke Davis shows us that it's OK to not feel good enough; it's normal. You are as smart and pretty as you think you are. If you think highly of yourself, others will too, and that's all that matters.

11. You're lucky to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.

It's OK to miss people. Missing someone is the first step to getting over them. If you miss them, there's a reason. Time heals all wounds.

"One Tree Hill" had a lot to offer while it was airing, and I will never forget the lessons I learned while watching it.

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
