Being In Las Vegas For My 21st

I've been waiting for this my whole life.

Being In Las Vegas For My 21st

Being that I have waited what seems like my whole life just to be twenty one, I couldn't be more excited now that I get to spend it in Las Vegas. As a kid I got to visit there a couple of times, but there was never really anything for "kids" to do. The only part I found entertaining was watching all the people and looking at all the beautiful hotels on the strip. This time going back I'm more excited than usual due to the fact I can finally do all the things I just had to watch others do the other times I went to visit.

Once I realized that the way the vacation was booked, I shook my head. I would actually still be at home the night I would legally be 21 at midnight. After thinking it through I was okay with it because I could then plan to go out with my friends before I left the next day. The night came too quick and I had already finished a bottle of wine to myself when I realized I didn't want to be on a plane the next day sick to my stomach. As I thought to myself I laughed because whats a twenty-first without drinking as much as you want or have waited to? Instead I saved it that night until I went to Vegas and enjoyed a night with friends I will happily remember. The next day flew by and I realized I finally made it! I was so eager that I got myself a drink right as I got to the hotel.

The next four days were some of the most enjoyable despite it being a little cold. I gambled like I had wanted to, even if I lost my money. I woke up at noon everyday and had a drink for breakfast. Years leading up to my 21st, I always imagined my friends getting me so drunk that I don't remember anything the next day, since that is what most of them have done. What I realized is that I wanted my birthday to be more about being legally drinking but spending it with people who love and care about me and having a good time. Being in Las Vegas was no doubt one of the best ways I have celebrated my birthday, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
