We have all heard about and probably experienced self-confidence issues sometime in our lives. But what about those of us who love or are learning to love ourselves? The people that have developed that type of self confidence deserve just as much recognition as the ones that are still learning how beautiful they truly are.
It's okay to be proud of who you are and what you look like. Since when has someone loving themselves, inside and out, become a problem? You can think you're beautiful or talented or smart without it being conceited. It's called confidence. Let's compare definitions. Confidence - a feeling of self assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities. Conceited - excessively proud of oneself; vain. Being confident is a beautiful thing and should be celebrated by all instead of being declared narcissistic. Why must we put people down because they feel confident? That's not right or fair. You feel confident today? That's amazing! Let's take a ton of pictures to document and celebrate the confidence that you have! #selfies
Self confidence is a journey, not a destination. There are people that are on the journey now, those who haven't even started, and there are people who've already made it to the end and are living their lives. The point is, it's not okay to shame anyone for any part of that journey. Just because someone hasn't started the journey, doesn't mean they won't and you've got no right to call them out for it. Just because someone has reached the end before you have, doesn't mean that you can call them out for being an over achiever or a fake because for all you know, they started much sooner than you did. Just because someone is still on the journey, doesn't give you any sort of reason to tear them down because they are as cautious and worried about the journey as you were when you first started.
It's time to stop caring how far ahead or behind others are because, in reality, the only person that can cast judgement on the progress of your journey is you. Focus on you and the rest will fall into place. Stop worrying about others and fall in love with yourself. Learn to love every part of you because there is so much more than meets the eye. Confidence is so much farther than skin deep. People can be confident in their speaking abilities, in their intellectual levels, in their looks, and so much more.
You are individual. Take time to learn about what makes you an individual. You have qualities that nobody else has. Learn to love each of those qualities because they make you, you.
