Hello! Your favorite pondering is officially back from a small hiatus. If you're lost, refer to last week's article to get caught up.
Anyway, on to our topic. This week's ponderings go into the department of imperfections.
So, we all have imperfections. We're human, so it's totally normal. The thing I'm pondering is why we get so caught up in little things when the little things are what actually make up life.
Here's a casual story where the author is the active example. When I was younger, I had teeth that weren't cosmetically perfect, but they were mine and that was all that mattered to me.
So, I grow up. I get braces to fix them. Now, keep in mind, this was done to prevent future dental issues.
I have braces. I find myself. 2013 is the year. Awesome bands are the soundtrack.
Now, it's 2015, and I get my top braces off. They are cosmetically perfect, but they relapse within a few hours. I get my retainer the following week. I wear it, but the space never closes. I'm in hysterics if it's somehow my fault, as if there was no point.
No matter how much I wear it, it always reverts. I know what you're going to say, just wear it more. I have, and the same thing always happens.
To the present day. I finally realized that the space is going to go away because it's part of me and it always will be. I had a space before, and I had a space after. I wouldn't be me without it.
So, with all of that being said, your imperfections make you particular. Why should we follow these norms of looking like everyone else? We look like us. Different is cool. Conventional is overrated.
