"I may find my prince someday, but you'll always be my king."

Dear Daddy,
There aren't enough words for me to tell you how grateful I am to have you in my life. Thank you for always being there for me, for picking me up when I'm down, making me laugh when I'm sad, but more importantly, thank you for being you. Thank you for showing me that I'm okay just the way that I am, flaws and all. You're the one man in my life who loves me for me and that's more than I can say.
I'll treasure every memory we've had, good or bad. Since I was little you've shown me how amazing life is; you've shown me that I should make myself happy and just enjoy life whatever that may be. My favorite memories of us are at camp when we would go fishing; that was "our time." We would be out on the lake for hours, seeing who would catch the most fish. Of course I'd have to make sure I took my "lucky pole" as you'd call it. We didn't have to have a conversation to enjoy it, just being out there together was enough.
The best nights growing up were when it was just you and I for the night and mom was gone. You would give me a million options, whether it was to stay in and play a game, go out to dinner, the amusement park, or out to ice cream. Most of the time I would ask to go get ice cream; you always had a sweet tooth so if I asked, you would say "yes" without hesitation; you still do.
You're one of the strongest people I know, so maybe that's where I get it from. You never shed a tear, and when you do I know that something is wrong. You always look for the good in people and know how to put a smile on someones face, whether it's cracking a joke or simply giving advice. You're my number one fan; you've never missed a recital, award ceremony, concert, or game. And when you do attend, you always make sure to embarrass me one way or another; but I'd have it no other way.
Thank you for always encouraging me to be and do my best. You constantly remind me that I can achieve anything I put my mind to and to never give up. I've always struggled with school growing up and I still do; if I needed help studying for a test or needed someone to look over an essay, you're always there. You want the best for me and you've given me the best life I could ever have.
Relationships have never come easy to me, in fact I've never had one before, so when I even mention a guy you are always the first person to ask a million questions. You'll wear your D.A.D.D. shirt (dads against daughters dating) secretly hoping you'll scare them away. If you like them enough you'll make sure to tell them the most embarrassing memory of me you have. But I know that you're just looking out for me and don't want your little girl to grow up.
"I may find my prince someday, but you'll always be my king."
You have shown me how a guy should treat me, how they should love me and treat me with respect. But most of all, you've shown me how a man should love me. Don't worry, no man can ever replace you, not even close. You'll always have a special place in my heart.
Love always,
Your Princess
