As many people know, about a month ago Yankee Candle created a special limited edition candle scent in Luke Bryan's honor. The famous country singer's candle came to be called "Kill the Lights" and has a vanilla-bourbon scent, which apparently is what people think Luke Bryan smells like. That got me to thinking - if the buildings, houses, and businesses of SIUC had their own candle scents, what would they be?
1. Morris Library
I imagine that the scent would be called something like "Stressed and Clueless". Lets face it, especially during Finals Week, students from all over corral into the Library like cattle to try to cram information from an entire semester into one night. The candle might smell like old books mixed with all flavors of coffee and energy drinks that students have been guzzling in attempts to pull an all-nighter.
2. Rec Center
This would definitely be the worst smelling candle, and I seriously worry for any person who would think that this candle scent would set any type of mood. The scent would probably be called either "Full of Regret" or "This Much Sweat Isn't Natural". We can already pretty much guess what it would smell like - something along the lines of sweat and tears.
3. Sidetracks
We all know the scent of this candle would incorporate the smell of popcorn and mass quantities of beer from a pitcher. It would probably be called "I'm too Young for Stix but I Still Want to go to the Bars".
4. Fraternity House
A lot like the Rec Center candle, this would smell very unpleasant. Sorry guys. Not much to it other than just sweaty, dirty, and mysterious scents. I imagine it would be called "We Throw Awesome Parties but Cleaning is Not Our Forte".
5. Sorority House
On the opposite side, i guess depending on the sorority, this candle would probably be a lot better smelling. It would have so many different scents that you wouldn't even be able to say what it even smells like exactly. If you mixed the smells of perfume, hairspray, curling irons, crafting paint, and mass amounts of coffee into one scent - you would have the Sorority House candle. Lets call it "It's a Sorority, Not a Cult".
6. Don Taco
Clearly all the smells of cheap Mexican food and alcohol-breath would make up this scent, probably called "The Chances of Me Eating This Sober Are Little to None".
