This is the Gonzaga Men’s Basketball Team.
In Spokane, they're kind of a big deal. They’re kind of like celebrities.
If the Gonzaga Men's Basketball team were celebrities, this is who they would be:
Bryan Alberts #10
Bruno Mars
Both Bryan Alberts and Bruno Mars are bundles of energy. Whether on stage or on the court, both are always flying around full speed. Alberts is a highly athletic guard, which mirrors Mars’ excellent dancing abilities.
Rem Bakamus #15
Andrew Garfield
Rem Bakamus would be Andrew Garfield because, in addition to being a known heart-throb amongst Zag ladies, he is one of those guys who is a consistent, hard working player. Always looking to improve, both Bakamus and Garfield are low-key, easy going individuals.
Jack Beach #2
Thomas Sangster
Jack Beach is the only true freshman on the team and Thomas Sangster is the 'baby' of Hollywood. Both are truly adorable and charming. Though Beach and Sangster are 'babies' of the Zags and Hollywood- respectively, they will hopefully go on to have long and successful careers.
Kyle Dranginis #3
Brad Pitt
Like Brad Pitt, Kyle Dranginis is a jack of all trades. He does a little bit of everything on the court. Pitt stars in a wide range of movies, showcasing his many talents. Dranginis is a great shooter, defender, has a excellent understanding of his role, sees the game well, and brings numerous intangibles to the Zags.
Ryan Edwards #25
Vince Vaughn
Did you know that Vince Vaughn is 6'5"? For a basketball player, that's an average height, but for a Hollywood actor, that's pretty tall. Edwards is a super nice, easy going, down to earth guy, just like the Dodgeball and Wedding Crashers actor.
Jeremy Jones #22
Matthew McConaughey
Jeremy Jones is literally Matthew McConaughey. Like the Magic Mike and The Wolf of Wall Street actor, Jones is from Texas. Both guys give off the chillest vibes imaginable and are full of raw talent that is equally matched with hard work. Jones is a transfer from Rice University in Houston, so, per NCAA rules, he will sit out the 2015-2016 season. At the moment, he is one of the leaders of the bench crew, cheering on his teammates at home games. When he is eligible next season the Zags will utilize his innumerable talents and raw athleticism. (This information/ details regarding transfer athletes applies to Jones, Jonathan Williams, and Nigel Williams-Goss http://www.ncaa.org/student-athletes/current/want-...)
Przemek Karnowski #24
Alan Rickman
Karnowski is the late Alan Rickman. May Professor Snape and Karnowski’s season rest in peace as the beloved, Polish, 7-footer’s senior season ended early due to back surgery in December. Both Karnowski and Rickman are uber talented and beloved by their fan bases.
Eric McClellan #23
The Obama Family
The Obama family has some crazy young looking genes because no one really knows their actual age. Seriously, how old are they? The answer is a lot older than one might guess, just like Eric McClellan. He is one of the older members of the team who is regarded by head coach Mark Few as one the best defenders of the team. Like the Obama’s, McClellan is full of energy and always facilitating the team with his wisdom.
Silas Melson #0
Taron Egerton
Silas Melson is Taron Egerton because they are both underrated, though tremendously talented. The guard and the English actor fly way under the radar in their respective fields, but both are exceptionally skilled and accomplished. Melson, like the Kingsman: The Secret Service actor, is making steady, upward improvements and both have positive, bright futures.
Josh Perkins #13
Though no one will likely ever have as much confidence as Mr. Kim Kardashian, Josh Perkins might come close. Like Kanye, confidence seems to ooze from Perkins. He wants the ball in his hands at important moments and isn’t afraid to do things the way he wants. Love or hate the rapper or the point guard, but they are undeniably talented, successful and have two of the biggest, most interesting and unique personalities.
Domantas Sabonis #11
Zac Efron
The big man for the Zags is Zac Efron: they’re both a really big deal. Efron is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. Sabonis has the potential to be a big time NBA star. With a few exceptions, Efron is one of those guys that you rarely hear anything bad about, much like Sabonis. They are well-liked, talented individuals. Efron and Sabonis have physically changed a lot since their early days. Go Google Domantas Sabonis and Zac Efron and scroll through the pictures of them. Puberty hit both of them really hard and they both have grown since their early careers. Thank god.
Dustin Triano #55
Seth Rogen
Since the exit of Canadian star, Kevin Pangos, Dustin Triano is the only Canadian born player for Gonzaga (Kyle Wiltjer technically is Canadian because he holds duel citizenship with the US and Canada and plays internationally for Canada, but we'll let that slide.) Dustin is Seth Rogan because he's a goofy Canadian with a great laugh. Easy going and hilarious, the backup guard would have a blast messing around Spokane with his counterpart Rogan, the Neighbors star.
Johnathan Williams #14
Will Smith
Jonathan Williams (shown middle in red stripes) is Will Smith. As a transfer from the University of Missouri, Williams will be sitting out this season. From his spot on the bench, he is always seen cheering for his teammates. He is Will Smith because he's like the dad of the team. He brings a calming presence to any situation, though always is one of the first off of the bench to celebrate and to offer support. Like Smith, Williams is quite laid back and easy going.
Nigel Williams-Goss #5
Bono
Whether it’s those crazy glasses, his unmistakable voice, or his bold style, the U2 singer stands out in a crowd. Nigel Williams-Goss transferred to Gonzaga from the University of Washington this year and is sitting out per NCAA rules. He is utilizing his time on the bench to become a style icon and perhaps the best dressed player in the country. Bold and adventurous like the Irish singer, Williams-Goss may have a possible career in fashion, probably for the fashion savvy NBA stars (I’m looking at you, Russell Westbrook, Dwyane Wade, Lebron and James Harden.)
Kyle Wiltjer #33
Harrison Ford
Similar to Jeremy Jones, Kyle Wiltjer is full of chill vibes, just like Harrison Ford. In his college career, Wiltjer has already accomplished so much, like winning a National Championship and numerous individual awards. Indiana Jones himself is also extremely accomplished and well-respected by his peers, just like Wiltjer around campus. The CBS Preseason Player of the Year is the backbone of the Gonzaga offense and is a quiet leader, like Ford, on and off the court. Harrison Ford has been one of the biggest stars in Hollywood for years and Wiltjer has the potential to be a star at the next level.
