How You Know You Found Your Person

“I didn’t like you because you had red in your hair.”

How You Know You Found Your Person
Summer Edwards

They are the person you cry to, the person the share your darkest secrets with, who you go on midnight walks with after a date and who help find you that date; they are your person.

1. You make the perfect road trip pair.

One of you is the DJ and the other one is the driver. Whether it is just Taylor Swift or a playlist just for this trip, you both know every word to every song and thank the Lord for the GPS on your phone.

2. They met your boyfriend before you did.

They know you are unable to find your own guy so they find one for you. One that they approve of and that they think will treat you right.

3. They let you eat their food because they eat your food.

They tub of cookie dough in the fridge; it is for both of you. That cartoon of goldfish-you share it all.

4. You are just as comfortable in their house as your own house.

“Anyone home? Nope? OK, that’s cool.” Continue to walk through the door to their room.

5. They know the perfect things to say when you are crying.

It may have taken some time and they might be laying in your bed next to you to stop you from crying, but they are there, 24/7 for the rest of your life.

6. You talk about each other’s wedding.

Already knowing that you will be in their wedding and they will be in yours.

7. Their boyfriend feels like he is third-wheeling when he is with the two of you.

Yes, all three of us have cuddled in the twin size bed that probably needs to be washed.

8. You know all their dirty secrets.

Which means that you can pick on them in public places because only they know what you are hinting to.

9. They say things that are only acceptable to say by them.

Yes, they call you crazy, but the second someone else does, “That’s only OK when I say it!”

10. You are willing to fight someone for the other person.

“Oh, he is being a douche! Do you want me to fight him?”

11. You have a dinner date all the time.

“It’s Moe’s Monday, you in?”

“Already out the door.”

12. They understand your schedule.

Yes, they complain when you can’t go to a frat party with them because you have a test the next day. But they send you Snapchat pictures at the party, so it is like you are there.

13. When you are separated for a week, you don’t know what to do.

“I miss you.”

“I miss you more.”

“Come back.”

“Counting down the days.”

14. You gained another sister.

You fight like sisters and forgive like sisters. Your family asks about them and you ask about their family.

15. You plan on your kid’s future together.

Her daughter is going to marry your son and then you will legally be family.

16. You have a countless number of screen shots.

That ugly Snapchat? Yes, I still have it.

17. But most importantly, you love each other no matter what you go through.

This is the person who you will spend the rest of your life with. She is your best friend. The person who is going to fight the ex that broke your heart. The person who is going to be holding your bouquet at you wedding. The person who you tell all your secrets to. The person who knows your ugly and your bad, but loves you for that and all the things that make you shine.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
