I know, I know. You shudder at the thought of rushing through crazy crowds and fighting over that perfect gift for Harry you spot from across the room. You shrug at the killer deals and decide its better to just shop online. But before you do, hear me out. As a seasoned Black Friday shopper myself, I can help you turn what you think would be a nightmare, into a thanksgiving tradition.
Step 1)
It can be overwhelming, so be sure to look up ahead of time what you are planning to get. That way, you will have a clear plan for the day.
Step 2)
You can look for coupons if you want, but most discounts will most likely already be applied on items. I personally find couponing to be a bit daunting, but if you are up for it, start going through magazines and newspapers the day before.
Step 3)
It’s better to avoid the crazy crowds, so go a bit early in the morning. That means going to bed super early if you plan to leave any time before 7am. Or you know, just drink a TON of coffee throughout the day.
Step 4)
Instead of going to one store, go to the mall. This will give you more variety and less chance of running into angry mobs of crazy shoppers all in one store.
Step 5)
Have some snacks with you. It’s crazy that I could be hungry at 9am, but after being up and walking around, you’d be surprised.
Step 6)
Go with people in your life that you are closest to, whether that be your actual family or your friends. It’s a fun experience and promises to be full of memories each year.
Step 7)
Wear your favorite Christmas sweater and sip that delicious hot cocoa from Starbucks in their red cups to get you in the festive mood.
Step 8)
Know when to stop. There is no shame in skipping out a little bit earlier than everyone else if you are just pooped.
Step 9)
Relax for the last half of the day; start a fire, get into some pjs and watch a movie.
