October is one of my favorite months of the year. The
weather is beautiful, the leaves are changing colors, and Halloween is
approaching, which means candy, of course. Halloween candy starts appearing in
stores way too early, in my opinion. It teases me when my eyes catch the first
glimpse of pumpkin-shaped chocolates at the beginning of September because I
know Halloween is still so far away. Even so, I figure that you have to make
the most of the seasonal goodies while they are here. Candy corn, caramel
apples, Halloween Oreos, and pumpkin donuts are just a few of the irresistible
treats that come in the spirit of the fall season. But really, who can eat just
one piece, or even one handful of candy corn? For someone who loves this time
of year, here are the stages of Halloween candy consumption.
Early excitement
Am I really mad that Halloween candy appears on the shelves in September? Probably not...
Getting in the spirit
It's October, which means it's finally acceptable to bring out the pumpkins (and the giant candy bowl).
Trying to hold back
I know that I need to slow down, but that chocolate on the table calls my name every time I walk by.
Halloween binging
It only comes once a year, so might as well go all out.
Regret
My conscience says, "what have you done?"
