As the end of another school year approaches, the future stands before us, vast and full of endless possibilities. With all of the options and choices that lie ahead, the future can seem scary to think about. Whether it's being sure that you've signed up for the right classes for the next semester, or trying to figure out what you're going to do after graduation, the uncertainty can be daunting. But even though the fear and worry may be intimidating, there's nothing wrong with acknowledging it.

Fear is a natural part of life. Channeling this fear is essential to move forward with whatever challenges come next in life. Fear and uncertainty can be channeled into energy for planning what's going to come next, which will ultimately remove the fear that was the driving force behind making your plans to begin with. Sometimes, doing this is a lot easier said than done. When everything In the future is uncertain and the next step isn't so clear, the fear can be overwhelming and moving forward is not as easy. No amount of self-motivation can help make things become clear, and that's when things become really frightening.

However, it is important to remember that no matter how scary things may seem, you're not going through it alone. Even when support from certain people may be lacking, it can be found in other places. Friends who are worth keeping around will be there to support you when things get rough, and they'll be there to help you figure things out when uncertainty arises. They'll be there with you during these uncertain times, and they'll also be there on the other side when things become clearer and more certain.

Of course, school and immediate post-graduate life are not the only parts of life that can be scary. Starting a new job, forming new friendships and relationships, and possibly moving to new places can all be frightening new experiences. moving to a new place in particular can be one of the scariest experiences since it is one that will most likely be done alone. Even if you have support from afar, the distance from your support system can be what makes the experience terrifying. However, despite the distance and uncertainty, your support system will still be there for you.

As long as you know where you can get support from, the future won't be as scary as it initially seemed. With family and friends supporting you, nothing is as scary as it seems. Even if you draw your support and strength from inside of yourself, as long as it's there for you to draw from, you can conquer anything, including the uncertain future.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
