Why I Became a Stella & Dot Stylist

Stella & Dot

Being a Stella & Dot Stylist doesn’t just mean I get to style friends, family and new acquaintances with the latest and greatest trends. It's so much more than that. When I first signed up to do this gig I had just quit my job of 5 years and moved to the NH Seacoast in efforts to find myself. I was offered this opportunity from a beautiful soul who I met through my previous work. This ball of sunshine is one of the kindest people I have ever met. She introduced me to this wonderful company and walked me through the ins and outs. She not only has become a friend I cherish but she is a great mentor and coach. Now that you have heard my love story for my upline, I will get into the meaning of this whole chant. It’s because of women like my upline and all the other stylists out there working their goals, that Stella & Dot truly stands out. It’s about women supporting women, it’s about spreading the SD joy and it’s truly unbelievable. I feel so lucky to be a part of this movement.

Stella & Dot has given me opportunities to grow as an individual, it has helped me embrace my awkwardness and express myself in many new ways. I have found a confidence in myself I never really had. It’s not just because the jewelry makes me feel beautiful it’s because this company is full of women who support each other and help each other grow and learn. All the women on my team are nothing short of amazing. They are brilliant, encouraging, inspiring and you guessed it beautiful inside and out. My first meet up with my team I couldn’t get over how encouraged and inspired I became from a room full of women I have never met. I remember leaving thinking "I can totally do this!" My participation in Stella & Dot is mostly for the fun of it. I love the extra cash it provides me and I love the ENTIRE Brand so all the jewels and displays I get to build and wear is a major plus. But I truly love getting together with a bunch of women and watching them marvel over the pieces and the excitement of trying on their favorites or soon-to-be favorites, and talking about all the fun ways to wear it all and spreading that SD joy.

Some of the stylists I have met are killing the Stella & Dot game. They are selling over $10,000.00 in product every month, hosting over 10 shows a month all while coaching and building their own teams. They set goals and crush them. And that’s the best part about SD, you make it your own. If you want to host 10 shows in a month you work it and you do it, and if you want to host a show here and there you do that too. The more you put into it the more you get out of it. And since I work a full-time job and go to school full-time, taking on this gig was something I was just going with in order to get some discounted jewels. Because this is a no pressure gig it was perfect for my busy schedule. And since it is so much fun I never feel like it is work. It’s almost a break for me from my constant to do list. And with such a wide variety of jewels there is something for everyone. So not only do I get to style someone for a big event but I also get to style for everyday fashionistas.

Getting to know the women at the shows makes it fun for me to try and find them the perfect piece and even introduce them to something a little more outside their comfort zone. Knowing they are excited about their new jewels is so great to see. And knowing my hostesses are earning tons of rewards makes it so exciting for them and for me. So as you can see the sales aren’t just about the money, they’re about so so much more. And I am so glad that I took the chance and signed up for this adventure.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
