5 Reasons Football Season Is The Best Season

Today I got to sit down at a local grill and enjoy my first Seahawks game of the season with my boyfriend. As I casually watched the game, I was amazed by the amount of love that the other fans in the room had for the team. As the Seahawks scored a touch down, pulling ahead to 12, while the Dolphins remained at 10, I watched in amazement and happiness. I consider myself to be a casual fan of the Seahawks. I live in Washington and I have my whole life. I like sports and I enjoy watching football every season. But these people I was sharing the game with, were wearing the colors, whooping and hollering and having a generally swell time.

This whole scenario made me think about how much sports mean to people in America. But why? Why do we put our kids into multiple activities when they are young, spend hundreds dollars to see them play for a few years, and watch game after game of people we do not actually know in real life?

I think we do all of this because we love being active, love the thrill of winning, and the social aspect is outstanding. So my top 5 reasons for loving sports, including football season and the Seahawks, are as follows.

Reason #1

Growing up I was a soccer fanatic. I loved playing on a team, with my brother, and even by myself. I enjoyed watching soccer and went to all of my brothers games and he came to most of mine. Soccer was my sport. I liked being able to play sports because I could be a part of a team and have a place on that team. I enjoyed being part of a group of people that loved exactly the same thing as me. Playing on a field with no restrictions, except the rules of course.

Reason #2

While I was playing sports, I was able to stay relatively active and fit. I was able to maintain a healthy weight and stay active in other parts of my life because of all the energy that I was putting in on the field. Being a sports fan makes working out seem more like play than actual work.

Reason #3

Super Bowl parties. Need I say more? Whether its Superbowl, Sunday Football, The World Cup, The World Series, or the Olympics, having a party and spending time with friends who enjoy the same team and sport is so fulfilling. I have always loved sitting in a room with family and friends, or even attending a live game with family and friends.

Reason #4:

For those of us that like to be competitive, playing sports and even watching them makes our competitive nature come to life. In my opinion, there is nothing better than a little healthy competition. I enjoy winning, and I love when my team wins games. Superbowl LI here come the Seahawks.

Reason #5

Fantasy Football is something that I never taken an interest in, but for those of you who have, we all know it is pretty entertaining and time consuming. I highly recommend watching The League https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiTg2GLqVMs if you like fantasy football and tv shows. I should really get a Fantasy Team going. Right?

Anyways, with the Seahawks winning the game today, I can say that whoever invented sports like Soccer and Football, was a genius. Sports keep you happy, active, social, and entertained for sure.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
