My senior year of high school, life seemed uneasy and stressful. I was struggling to accept my life as it was because it was far from perfect and it just didn't seem fair. I had two people diagnosed with cancer in my family, stress from becoming an independent adult, and an overwhelming sense of fear and uncertainty of where I was going to end up.
I spent a lot of days upset, not knowing how to possibly see the bright side of all this.
I saw a quote one day that said, "I am in charge of my thoughts and today I am choosing happiness."
That's when I started. I found an empty journal, and every day I would write down three things I was thankful for. I figured if I could just find three things every day that were good in my life, maybe I could wake up and not have to choose happy, but rather just be happy.
I wanted to share what just six months of this exercise did to my life and my mind.
