Finally, it's September! Which means Fall is right around the corner, despite the fact that it's 90 degrees outside (trust me, it's coming). I don't know about you, but almost everyone I talk to is obsessed with Fall. Maybe it's the start of a new semester or beginning, or maybe it's the smell of Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks. Whatever it is, it seems as though everyone's new favorite season (along with mine) is Fall and I have created a list suggesting why this may have come about.
1. Starbucks
As previously mentioned, the Pumpkin Spice Latte (which returns September 8!) is probably a huge reason why Fall is such a big obsession. If you're a dedicated Starbucks customer like me, you know that all Fall and Winter, everyone is ordering this dearly beloved drink. I myself haven't tasted it because I'm not too keen on pumpkin, but I think I will see what the hype is about. Don't have Starbucks money? Well don't fret, almost every place that sells coffee is offering the drink. I went to 7-eleven the other day for coffee and they had already replaced one of the iced coffee flavors with Pumpkin Spice. Basically, Pumpkin Spice Lattes should be the mascot for Fall.
2. A new wardrobe.
Just like any other season, Fall has it's own wardrobe. Basically, my entire closet is dedicated to the cold. I own a billion sweaters, cardigans, scarves, and boots because who doesn't like being comfy? On top of that, it's so easy to dress warm. Summer is about wearing the least amount of clothes possible because it's practical. In the fall, layering is your best friend in cold weather. And guess what, you can still wear you favorite tank top, just throw a cardigan on over it and you're read to face the perfect weather that encompasses this perfect season! And besides, who doesn't like shopping for ugly sweaters?
3. Social Media
Log into Pintrest, Twitter, or Tumblr, and literally everyone is raving about Fall. I honestly wasn't into it this much until I saw how much other people were. The amount of blogs dedicated to pictures of girls in cozy sweaters walking through leaves with a cup of coffee in their hands is numerous. To be honest, it's inspirational and it definitely gets me in the Fall spirit.
4. The leaves
I happen to come from a very pretty part of my state where in Fall, the scenery is amazing. Just imagine, thousands of golden trees set in a backdrop against mountains with dozens of equally as golden trees. Yes, that's exactly where I live. However, I go to school in the city. There are no trees or mountains. In fact, the only indication of Fall in the city is that it gets darker faster and the weather is perfect. This doesn't change the fact the Fall is my favorite season, Fall takes on a different form in the city that can only explained by witnessing it for yourself.
These are some of the reasons I think Fall is becoming such an obsession and I'm sure there are thousands more. So why is Fall your favorite season?
