10 Essential Oils You Should Be Using

I have been using essential oils for a little over a year now. It is amazing how much they really work and how much they can change your life. They are a great way to improve your overall physical and emotional well being. Here are just a few application tips and some essential oils that i personally use and love.

Important tips on how to apply:

  • Hold at a 45-degree angle while applying
  • Never touch the bottle to your skin to prevent contamination
  • Note: Not all essential oils can be applied directly to the skin

1. Rose Oil (AKA the beauty oil) —

Rose oil has many medical uses including anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidants to fight off disease and illness, diminishes scars, treats ulcers and can even help prevent DNA damage. Additionally, rose oil is known to be a relaxant and can help with hypertension, anxiety, viral infections, wrinkles and acne. I personally put rose oil on my face before I go to bed every night and I wake up with glowing skin. You cna even add rose oil to your face lotion to add moisture.

2. Peppermint oil —

Peppermint oil has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory antiviral and anti-fungal properties and it is also used as a digestive stimulant and pain reliever. Additionally, it can provide headache relief, improved concentration and alertness. I personally diffuse peppermint oil in my diffuser if doing work and it makes me feel more alert and focused.

How to use:

3. Lavender oil (my personal favorite multipurpose oil) —

Lavender oil can be used to treat cuts, bruises, burns, bug bites, depression, anxiety, food allergies and alcoholism. It also aids in memory, high blood pressure, concentration, and respiratory infections and can be used as a deodorant or scar reducer. Although I have tried most of these, I mainly use lavender oil as a relaxant and to help fade scars or cuts.

How to use:

  1. Apply 2-4 drops to location
  2. Inhale
  3. Diffuse
  4. Take as a dietary supplement

I suggest that you buy your essential oils from a company that provides essential oils with good quality. I personally like Young Living essential oils. You should try them out. Maybe these oils can change your life too!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
