10 Funniest Parks And Recreation Characters

In celebration of tonight's reunion episode, let's decide which Parks and Rec character gets the most laughs and has the best comedic timing. There's a lot of material to work with, so let's get started. (Side note: these are only the main characters, so I left out other classic characters like Jean-Ralphio and Craig.)

10. Ann Perkins

Ann is one of my least favorite just because of her inability to be funny. Sure, she occasionally cracks a joke, but when compared to the rest of the cast, she lacks in comedic timing and her ability to deliver a ridiculous line with deadpan emotions.

Best line: "Well, I salsa your face."

9. Jerry Gergich

Honestly, Jerry's character comes with a lot of humor around him, because his work life is essentially a joke. I wish that I could put him further down the list, but when it comes to it, the comedy that he brings to the show isn't through his own lines, it's the lines other people say about him. So sadly, he is number 9 for me.

Best line: "So I go by Terry now. They already had a Larry in the parks department, and they suggested that they change my name to Terry. I told them my real name was Garry and they said, "Who cares?" What a bunch of fun guys.

8. Ben Wyatt

It broke my heart to put my man Ben down this far on the list. He is one of my favorite characters, but he just isn't as funny as some of the rest of the cast. With that being said, I still love his looks to camera and the way he gushes over nerdy things.

Best line: "I hope that high school auditorium is big enough, because I'm bringing 10,000 Maniacs."

7. Donna Meagle

https://twitter.com/toosweetflicker/status/1253717062939226113/photo/2

If Donna had been given more screen time, she could've easily been on the top of this list. But sadly, she was only a recurring character with little substance until after the first few seasons. If she had more development, she could be the best character this show has.

Best line: "And if I had an hour alone with Robert Pattinson, he'd forget all about Skinny Legs Magee, I'll tell you that much."

6. Leslie Knope

https://twitter.com/toosweetflicker/status/1253717062939226113/photo/2

Leslie is the main character and one of the single driving forces of this show. Most of her comedic moments come from the hilarious situations that her ambition gets her into. A lot of her lines are delivered seriously and are unintellionally funny, which gives her character spot number six. Although she is the single best character on this show, she doesn't measure up to those ahead of her.

Best line: "The only thing I will be waving is your decapitated head on a stick in front of your weeping mother."

5. Tom Haverford

Tom is legendary, and his ideas and constant side hustles are inspiring to all. His funniest moments come when he's with his best friend, Jean-Ralphio. My favorite Tom Haverford episode is "End of the World", because the party he throws is INCREDIBLE. However, he is a little whiny, and that's what's keeping him from the top four.

Best line: "Zerts are what I call desserts. Tray-trays are entrées. I call sandwiches 'sammies,' 'sandoozles,' or 'Adam Sandlers.' Air conditioners are 'cool blasterz.' I call cakes 'big ol' cookies.' I call noodles 'long-ass rice.' Fried chicken is 'fry-fry chicky-chick.' Chicken parm is 'chicky-chicky-parm-parm.' Chicken cacciatore? 'Chicky-cach.' I call eggs 'pre-birds,' or 'future birds.' Root beer is 'super water.' Tortillas are 'bean blankets.' And I call forks 'food rakes."

4. Chris Treager

Chris is the person that everyone aspires to be in life. He is my favorite just because of the character growth and depth that he undergoes from his first episode to his last. His ability to talk fast and inflict emotion is so powerful when he delivers lines, making him number four.

Best line: "If I had to have anybody tell me that I have cancer, I would want it to be me."

3. Ron Swanson

Ron Swanson is a crowd favorite for many fans, and with good reason. He is strong character in his beliefs and he is empathetic towards others without being mushy or unbearable. I love Ron, and it was very close to make him number one, but in the end, he just didn't have what it took to outshine April or Andy.

Best line: "When people get too chummy with me, I like to call them by the wrong name to let them know I don't really care about them."

2. April Ludgate-Dwyer

https://twitter.com/toosweetflicker/status/1253716808391168000/photo/2

April is so funny because of her deadpan expressions and tone. She is able to deliver a line like no other character. She's also so refreshingly weird. She brings hilarity in her unique personality, and when you put her together with Andy, they are guaranteed to make you roll on the floor in laughter.

Best line: "Dogs should rewarded for not being people."

1. Andy Dwyer

https://twitter.com/toosweetflicker/status/1253717006475579392/photo/2

If you have ever watched Parks and Recreation, you know that Andy Dwyer deserves this number one spot. Andy is ditsy, caring, spunky, charsmatic, and clueless all at the same time. When you combine those features with his character "Burt Macklin" and his songs, he becomes the most entertaining part of the show.

Best line:"Leslie, I typed your symptoms into the thing up here, and it says you might have network connectivity problems."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
