Dear Dad, I'll Never Forget That You Loved Me First
Ashleigh Ferguson

Dear Dad,

You have watched me grow into the person I am today. You have always been there for me through so many ups and downs. You were always someone I could laugh with and have a great time with. You have seen me cry over boys who broke my heart time and time again.

Now that I have found the love of my life, I want you to know that I haven't forgotten that you were the first man to ever love me. You were the first man I was dependent on and the first man I could trust. You were the first man to hold me, the first man to think I was beautiful, the first man I danced with, and the first man who has never and will never break my heart.

I don't want you to think that I have forgotten about any of my childhood memories that I shared with you. I'll never forget how you taught me how to ride a bike and then eventually drive a car. I'll never forget you helping me with my math homework or tucking me in at night. I'll never forget how much you pushed me to be the best version of myself that I could be. I want you to know that I value everything you have done for me and taught me.

I'm sorry for all of my years that I drove you crazy, especially as a teenager. Despite the hell I put you through, you never stopped loving me. Thank you for your endless love and support, Dad. I wouldn't be following my dreams if I didn't have you here cheering me on.

No matter who you walk me down the aisle to, I'll never forget that I was your little girl first. You've shown me what a real man is and how a woman should be treated. Thank you for being the first man I ever loved, Daddy, I wouldn't want it to be anyone else. You're the best dad any girl could ever ask for.

Love, forever and always,

Your Little Girl

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
