My dad, not to brag or anything, is pretty much the bee’s knees, arms, and legs. He’s been my biggest supporter, my go-to guy, and the only person I know who laughs at really dumb stuff with me (I’m talking really stupid stuff). As you grow up, your schedule gets cramped and time seems to escape you. Sometimes having a daily talk with your dad like you did for the last 18 years of your life doesn’t happen as often as you wish it did, but he’ll always know that you love him. Here are a few thank-you’s for you, Dad.
Thank you, Dad, for teaching me all of the important things in life. Anything from how to change a tire, to how to bait a hook, to how to work hard, you’ve been my favorite teacher my whole life.
Thank you, Dad, for being my biggest supporter. Thanks for coming to all my soccer games when I was 11, even though I sucked and constantly told my coach I had a cramp so I wouldn’t have to play. Thanks for coming to every musical, play, and choir concert throughout my entire existence.
Thanks for teaching me “What mom doesn’t know can’t hurt her” and “Let’s not and say we did.” Stopping for Chinese food right before dinner but not ever telling mom was prime.
Thank you, Dad, for also telling me I suck when I really suck. Thanks for laughing about it with me later too.
Thank you, Dad, for being the one I can go to when Mom gets a little too annoying (sorry, Mom, if you're reading this; I really love you too!).
Thank you, Dad, for teaching me everything I know about all my favorite sports. Thanks for taking me to my first NASCAR race and still tailgating even though it probably wasn’t that fun with a 7-year-old.
Also thanks for getting excited about fantasy football with me, even if my QB racks up 30 points and yours gets injured in the first quarter.
Thank you, Dad, for taking time out of your busy workday to discuss only the most important topics with me.
Thank you, Dad, for being a part of what I have become today. You and Mom have raised me with unconditional love, and I have learned unshakable morals, strong values, and have become level-headed.
There is so much more that I could thank you for and that I should thank you for, but it would be impossible to write it all out.
Thank you, Dad, for everything.
