Halloween has snuck up on us once again! With less than a week until the holiday, there aren't many options left for costumes. Maybe you found plans last minute, maybe time just got away from you, or maybe you just don't have the money to spend right now on expensive costumes. Here's a list of 9 easy Halloween costumes that you can create from things you probably already have in your closet!

1. Detective

Okay, so trench coats haven't been super popular recently, but if you still have one, go as a detective! This costume is great because it can be as detailed or as simple as you want! Plaid pants add a nice touch, and if you have a detective's hat, a pipe, or a magnifying glass, you could really pull this costume together. However, just a trench coat and a cute pair of glasses make this perfect and adorable!

2. Katniss Everdeen

This one is super easy! Honestly, if you braid your hair and wear earthy tones, people will get that you're Katniss. Just get a jacket, solid shirt, pants, and knee-high boots in various shades of brown, olive green, and brown and you're set. Add a bow and arrow or a Mockingjay pin if possible to really put this costume over the top. Any book or movie character is a great option for a costume, though! With the right articles, you could go as Hermoine Granger, as well. This is just one idea!

3. Cat/Animal

I know you're already rolling your eyes at the classic "just wear animal ears and it's a costume", but hey, it's cute and it's easy. You can get a set of ears and a tail at any store this time of year for fairly cheap and then just wear all black. Add more leather and a mask and you could be Catwoman instead, mix it up a little bit.

4. Velma

This may work better for those with short hair, but anyone can make this work! Simply an oranger sweater, a red skirt, and glasses can make this costume complete and make you easily recognizable. To perfect this, however, find an orange sweater with a turtleneck, a pleated red skirt, orange knee-high socks, and red shoes! You could get a group of friends together and go as the whole gang!

5. Sandy

If you're feeling confident and want to feel good about yourself Halloween night, this is the costume for you. Black pants, a black off-the-shoulder top (perfect that these are in style again!), a leather jacket, and red shoes complete this costume! Take it an extra step and curl your hair and put on red lipstick to really stand out!

6. Minnie Mouse

If you've been to Disneyworld you've probably gotten a set of ears you've been wondering if you'll ever get a chance to wear them again. Well, here's your chance! A set of ears, a red skirt, and a polka dot top will do the trick for this ensemble. Or, a polka dot skirt and a black top. Really, as long as you have the ears and you're wearing red black and white, people will get it. Not to mention you'll look adorable.

7. Where's Waldo?

This one's super simple but extremely recognizable. A red and white striped shirt, a red and white striped beanie, blue jeans, and glasses will leave people knowing, without a doubt, who you are.

8. Wednesday Addams

A black dress with a white collar and pigtail braids creates the perfect look for Wednesday Addams. The best part about this costume? You're allowed to be in a bad mood and your RBF works in your favor.

9. Rosie the Riveter

My personal favorite, go as Rosie the Riveter. All you need is a denim shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a red bandana. Or, make do with any sort of red scarf or fabric that you can tie in your hair. Adorable and empowering.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
