New York City and Los Angeles are both beautiful cities with gorgeous people, savory restaurants and endless enjoyment. But there has been a long debated question of which city is better. Today, I will settle this long feud between these two amazing cities. I know both cities pretty well or at least that’s what I like to think. I grew up in Long Island, New York and went to the city often since I was young, but I go to college in Los Angeles and have explored the beauty of California.

But the better city is......... New York City, and here are five reasons why NYC is the place to be.

1. The Weather

Ok, Ok, I know what you're thinking. How does New York have better whether? Well, New York has all four seasons and that's what makes it beautiful. Living in LA for a full year has made me realize that the weather in LA is bipolar. It is hot and gorgeous for an hour and the next hour, it is cold and I need a jacket which I didn't think I needed an hour ago when I left my dorm. At least in New York, I know I need a jacket all the time whether it is a light spring jacket or a heavy winter coat. In the winter, New York is a Winter Wonderland that everyone needs to experience and enjoy. The spring has blossoming trees and flowers everywhere which can just make you smile and your day better.

2. The night life

New York City has a night life like no other city, especially in the summer. Whether it is a Monday night or a Friday night, people are out and having a good time. There's always something to do and end up meeting some really cool people. Guys are dressed the typical frat boy look while girls are dressed in high heels barely able to walk because no matter how comfortable they are, heels always hurt your feet. Going out to the bars is a good time with friends and going to a club is quite the wild night, but wherever you go, it is turnt.

3. The late night snack

There's no doubt about it that LA and NYC both have amazing restaurants, but when it comes to choosing the snack of the night, New York has the best. After a night of going out or just staying in with friends, there is the most delicious pizza or egg sandwich bagel just around the corner and you can never go wrong with either.

4. The transportation

New York City wins this one by a long shot. Does LA even have a metro or any public transportation? Of course they do, but it is bad! NYC has the best public transportation. Let's say you are going to the Financial District from the Upper West Side, that's easy and not a problem. Traveling that distance in LA, especially with traffic, would take twice as long, probably longer. It would be an absolute nightmare! New York City has an efficient subway system that can get you from one place to another without a huge hassle.

5. The view/buildings

New York City has beautiful skyscrapers which makes for a lit night. From the Empire State Building to the Flatiron Building, the architecture is undeniably stunning. I love going to a rooftop at night and hanging out with good friends with the amazing view of New York City. Staying up to watch the sunrise, never gets old.
Both cities are unique in its own way but once a New Yorker, always a New Yorker!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
