If you have never heard of the CPP mobile app you are probably thinking, “Cal Poly Pomona has an app? I would never use that.” I also had the same thoughts at first, until I actually started using it. This app makes my life so much easier and will also be useful to you. Here are some features in the app.
Bronco Shuttle Express
Whenever I am standing in the Overflow Lot waiting for my sweet ride (Bronco Shuttle) to take me to the Marketplace, I am shocked at how many people get frustrated with waiting and just start making the long trek into campus even though my app says the shuttle will be there in 2 minutes. This app tells you exactly when the next shuttle will arrive and even gives you the option to track its every move on a live map. Yup, that’s right, it’s not just Route C, but you can also track Route A, B1 and B2.
Have you ever been frustrated when the little electronic prediction signs by the shuttle stops are insanely inaccurate? The app gives you the option to send feedback to Cal Poly and tell them that the prediction said 5 minutes, but you waited 50 minutes and missed your basket weaving final.
My Academics
This feature actually allows you to register and drop your classes right from the app. There is no need to run to the library or wait for your laptop to boot up anymore in order to catch your registration date; everything is right at your fingertips.
Athletics
There is a general consensus that CPP has little to no school spirit. I attribute this to us being a commuter school and students not being aware of sporting events. CPP Mobile allows you to easily see the next games coming up and follow your favorite sports. If more people knew about this feature, we may gain a bit more spirit and pride.
Course Catalog
When I am planning my class schedule for the next quarter, I always have to hunt for the CPP course catalog that shows every class offered at Cal Poly Pomona. Not anymore! I can access the catalog in less 10 seconds via the app and it is all completely updated information!
Some other features of the apps include: maps, events, news, library, Blackboard, videos, pictures, directory, ask Billy and even has a link to CPP’s social media pages.
