Earning their 17th straight win on the Smurf Turf, Boise State blew out Hawaii 55-0. True freshman quarterback, Brett Rypien, got the start against the Rainbow Warriors throwing for 271 yards and three touchdowns for the day. Jeremy McNicholas also had a great night, rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
Coach Bryan Harsin stated after the game, ''We took advantage of the turnovers and put points on the board early." The Broncos have fallen in love with their new starting quarterback, who has scored over 50 points in every game he has played. ''(Brett) is a poised quarterback and a leader,'' Anderson said. ''Having him under center for us right now is fun, to say the least.''
The Broncos worked their way back into the top 25 in the AP poll sitting at #25. Boise State looks to build off this win and continue there stellar season as they play Colorado State next week.
