To my dearest sister,
Although we were born 11 years apart, with different fathers, different hair and different eye color, we still tend to be so similar. Sharing the same love for traveling, shoes and spending mom’s money has only grown stronger over the years. Growing up, I looked up to all the wrong people and luckily you were there to lead me towards the right path. You have truly impacted my life for the better.
You were one of my first best friends. You would always do my hair and makeup whenever I was younger. Isn’t it funny how now I do your hair and makeup? Major plot twist, am I right?
By watching how you handle tough situations, you have somehow made me a stronger person. I have learned to always look on the more positive side of every situation. I have learned that girls are going to always be mean for no reason and there’s nothing you can do to change that. I have learned that there’s always a more professional way to handle dramatic arguments.
Your personality may not be as bubbly as me, but we tend to stick around the same crowd. We both enjoy having guy friends because we feel that we are able to finally be ourselves around them. Realizing that they are a lot more laid back, you were right when you said your best friends should be guys. Growing up without a brother-figure in my life has made me appreciate this so much more.
You have made the biggest impact in how I have built up my morals over the years. Without going to church frequently, you have taught me that keeping your faith still close at heart can go a long way. Seeing you feel so confident within yourself and your lifestyle has done wonders for me over the past few years. You have shown me how to take care of friends who are in need, and myself. I can’t even express how grateful I am for that.
The most important thing in my eyes is that you have taught me that happiness and kindness conquers all. Although I tend to be jokingly mean to the ones that I love, I truly have grown to have one of the biggest hearts, thanks to you.
You have been my second mom this entire time. Whenever mom was unable to help, I would run to you and you seemed to always have an answer or solution. If there was something I felt that I couldn’t talk to mom about, you were there. You’ve always been there.
I am so grateful to have a sister like you, because I don’t know if I would have made it this far without your kind words and inspirations. I wish I was able to repay you for all your lectures, what seemed to be pointless conversations at the time and everything else that you have done for me. Thank you for teaching me to radiate positivity every single day. Without you, I don’t know how I’d still be living today.
Love, your little sister.
