This week 9 years ago, one of the most iconic shows of the 21st century premiered on The CW and changed the world as we know it. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit... but it absolutely changed MY world and I know I'm not alone, am I right ladies? So, in honor of the outrageous and amazing friendship of Blair and Serena, I thought I'd share what I believe to be the best things about living with your very best friend (or friends!).

First, we begin with the basics: decorating. There's nothing like living with someone who shares your sense of style, or at least doesn't judge you for the - shall I say - eccentric pieces of decor you already own.
*Walking out of Home Goods, Hobby Lobby and Michael's like*

Then, you begin to stock every cabinet in your kitchen and shelf in your fridge with food. Don't forget the copious amounts of wine that must be purchased for the many impromptu wine nights that will be had! Or maybe a hard cocktail if you're feeling frisky, like our favorite party gal Serena

After you're all settled, the real fun begins. Once you live with your best friend, you always have something to wear for every occasion because you are #blessed with a huge, joint closet. Just don't be that roommate that never returns things. On that topic, you also always have someone to get ready for a night on the town with. Unfortunately, for most of us at least, that town isn't the Upper East Side of New York City.

When you eventually make your way home from a night on the town where you on the off chance didn't go out with your best friend, she will be waiting to take care of your drunk self. And vice versa. It's a mutual thing.

Oh, Serena. Our favorite hot mess.

Every night becomes a middle school sleepover. You can stay up late painting your nails and talking about boys, and the only difference is now you are old enough to order your own pizza and drink copious amounts of wine while doing it (told you that all that wine would come in handy!). Not to mention you always have someone to cuddle with (or is that just me and my friends? okay..)

But then something sad happens: your best friend goes out of town, or home for the weekend, or basically she is somewhere that you are not. Not cool. It will feel as if one of your limbs are missing, or maybe something less dramatic than that but you get the point. Once you live with your best friend, you officially become more like family than friends (if you weren't already) and your life feels different without them in it. Even if it IS only for two days.

When you live with your best friend, you get to see the person you are closest with at their most vulnerable state and also at their very best. They are there to comfort you through the worst times and celebrate with you for the happy times. You get to cheer each other on, and have your greatest supporter with you every day. And although every friendship comes with it's ups and downs, living together makes working through your issues all the more worth it. I mean, if you haven't had your very own Blair and Serena fight at this point in your friendship... you're in for it soon.

Basically, living with your best friend gives you the best reason to come home every day and I have one thing left to say about this, specifically to my best friend: can we live together until we're 80?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
