12 Reasons Why Going To College With Your High School Best Friend Is Actually The Best
The Odyssey

You know the sad tale, 2 high school best friends go to the same college and end up hating each other a month in. Everyone assumes you and your bestie won’t last if you go to the same school, but if it’s a strong enough friendship, like my best friend and I have, it will absolutely work out, and be one of the best parts of college. There are countless reasons why being at the same school as your best friend is a huge plus in college, and there’s no better way to show that than with the best duo on TV, Joey and Chandler from Friends.

1. You can help each other shop, pack, and settle in to college life

Plus, you have an automatic friend during welcome week to relieve the stress of moving in.

2. You can still act like an immature child around them

because they knew you when you were still in that awkward middle school phase. There's no need to act like the responsible adult all college kids are expected to be when you're around them.

3. You always have a piece of home with you

They're a great relief when you're feeling homesick, plus you can carpool home together.

4. You basically have two dorm rooms

You leave your clothes in their room, they leave some in yours, and your roommates think it's completely normal that you're always over at each other's rooms

5. You never have to say goodbye

You don't have to say goodbye when you leave for school, and you don't have to say goodbye when you're on break, they're stuck with you all year.

6. You always have someone to go out and act like a fool with

Some of the best nights of college are with your high school bestie. You can bring back all the awkward dances from your freshman year homecoming with no shame.

7. You don't have to explain any past stories to them, because they already know everything about you

It's so relieving just going into a rant and not having to explain your family history or your entire love life.

8. Your friendship survived high school and now college, there's nothing you can't conquer together

Try to tear us apart, world, I dare you.

9. They're still your #1 supporter

They were there cheering you on at your high school band concerts and when the cute boy asked you out on a date. They understand how important the little things are and will congratulate you whether you rocked a big interview or finally did your laundry after procrastinating 4 weeks.

10. They know all your embarrassing stories from high school

And still somehow love you. You definitely don't have to shy away from them, cause they've seen it all.

11. Even though you probably thought it was impossible, you'll grown closer

You guys probably thought you were really tight in high school. Then you'll come to college. You'll experience even more together to the point that there are absolutely no boundaries.

12. They'll always be there for you

You've already been through so much, you know you will survive whatever comes your way. I'm so glad I get to go to college with my best friend, I can't wait to make countless more memories with her.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
