Light conversation blossoms easily, and you can learn basic information, like: birthdays, favorite movies/books, and little quirks they possess. The date acts as a subtle way to unite two unknown parties into a nice union. And if the date goes sour, it becomes an easier way to dissolve the idea of a second date.

A Walk in the Park:

A date in the park is a sure way for smooth sailing for a second date. Small talk, enjoying the view of birds, or discussions about the infrastructure of nearby buildings allows for a great date. There is a lack of pressure as a large area of people relieve any present nerves.

Bowling:

Bowling can be one of the most laid-back sports on the planet. It produces the nature of competition, but also gives a dynamic of having careless fun. Bowling also allows for a group date to conspire, allowing both parties to bring friends to help relieve the stress of meeting someone for the first time. And once one person wins, a congratulatory kiss is in order: a big plus.

A museum is a fantastic place to learn more about art and artists who have fantastically captured our culture and society, but it is not the ideal first date. There is limited conversation due to the unspoken rule of low volume/silence required by all museums, but most importantly you can sound like a pretentious snob. Paying more attention to the art rather than your date will lead you in the wrong direction of a next date.

Netflix and Chill:

If you’re not looking for second date, go ahead. The success rate of a Netflix and Chill session depends solely on the partner’s eagerness to “chill.” You obviously are not seeking to learn more about Olympian Lolo Jones and her journey from LSU to the China Olympics, so don’t kid yourself.

Family Parties:

Talk about an awkward situation. There's a person you may have only been talking to for maybe two weeks, and the best way to spend one of your first encounters is to meet your mother? By the end of the night, your second removed cousin probably will know more about your date than you.
