Have you ever been pressed with a hardship? A life altering experience? I'm sure that you have. Hardships are apart of life, and there’s no way to ever eliminate those hardships. For Tyler Rollins, he experienced a hardship that nobody would ever want to experience. Now a year from graduation at Arkansas Tech University, Rollins has found solace since being paralyzed and is inspiring people everyday. This is his story, a story of overcoming hardships and living a new life that leaves people saying, “Wow.”
From a personal level, it's hard for me to complain about my problem and hardships when I know what Rollins is going through. There was a point in the interview where Rollins spoke about other people's hardships, and he offered some words on other hardships people go through.
He said, in short, that his hardship is the most difficult thing he has ever gone through. He remembered a time when there was a man rehabbing a broken leg, in pain and ready for it to be over with. While the man was doing rehab, he noticed Rollins in the situation he's in, and he never heard any complaining. The guy couldn't believe that he was fussing over a broken leg that would eventually heal, when he realizes a young man like Rollins may never walk again. Rollins responded in a way that I would have never imagined, you can't compare hardships. Both Rollins and the other man are going through what they believe is the hardest time of their lives. Rollins' situation is not any more special that the man's situation, or vice versa. Since then, Rollins and the man grew close during the rehabilitation experience
If you're going through a hardship, just remember it's not any different than what someone else is going through. Rollins said throughout the interview to be strong, hence the name of the video. Be the best you can be. Keep your faith that everything will be okay, and there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. It may not be what you think is best or the right way, but in the long run it will be for the best.
Tyler Rollins is someone I look up to for inspiration. A story like this needs to be heard, because he lives a life that nobody would ever think of living, and he is doing it with a smile on his face. Yes, life is hard. It was never meant to be a walk in the park. It's inspiring to see him live life the way he his, to the fullest. Be what you're called to be, and if hardship comes your way, continue to live life, be what you're called to be, and most of all, be strong.
