The stage was set on Dec. 10 in Baltimore, Maryland for fans of Army and Navy. As they gathered, both teams watched as the most important game of the year unfolded before them.
The look on Navy Midshipmen head coach Ken Niumatalolo accurately depicted the faces of the Navy Midshipmen and their fans when they realized late in the fourth quarter that it didn't look like they were going to continue their winning streak into 15 years.
The cadets of West Point were ready from the start to take Navy by the horns and end the 14-year losing streak against the Midshipmen.
That feeling when you're up by two touchdowns at halftime.
Unfortunately, the Midshipmen started to make a comeback during the third quarter, eventually leading Army by a score of 17-14.
There wasn't much concern for the cadets of West Point, though, as we were playing on land after all.
Cadets would soon be celebrating, as Army came back to score a touchdown with six minutes left in the fourth quarter, making the score 21-17.
'Win first, sing second,' cadets stormed the field after Army was finally able to end the 14-year losing streak and come back to win 21-17 against the Navy Midshipmen. The goal is always to win first and sing your alma mater second, and proud was every cadet in attendance to stand amongst their classmates and sing the West Point alma mater after the victory.
Needless to say, the Secretary's Trophy is definitely back where it belongs.
Go Army, we beat Navy!
