It’s now being rumored Apple will be getting rid of the 3.5 mm headphone jack which was pretty standard with all iPhones. Apple now wants to try and make their phone even slimmer because they have always aspired to make things as small as they can. The headphones will be able to plug into the Lighting port, or you could just use Bluetooth headphones if you have them.
Apple first switched over to the Lightening port when the iPhone 5 first came out and the iPod 5. So, would this be a good move for Apple?
It seems like Apple is doing this with all their new devices now. The new MacBook is very slim and only has two ports on it. While thinner can sometimes be better, this might make some people enraged who don’t like Apple headphones, and like being able to choose the ones that they want.
If you’re someone who doesn’t, this would mean that you wouldn’t be able to use non-Apple headphones anymore, unless some developers come out with new headphones. There are a few out there right now but the options are pretty limited.
Also, if you want to charge your phone, you won’t be able to listen to music at the same time. Which is a bummer, unless you have the Bluetooth headphones. While this might just be a rumor, it causes you to think that would be a smart move on Apple’s part.
We know that they love to make their devices as thin as possible, but maybe this is too thin?
It seems like something crazy not many companies would be willing to do since its pretty revolutionary. Many companies would worry about the people they might lose to this, but it seems like Apple doesn’t worry about this too much. I personally don’t think they need to make a slimmer phone, but they have gone in a whole new direction with all the products that they are making now, so it’s almost not that crazy to think that Apple would do something like this.
There has been speculations when the new iPhones come out, but most of these rumors haven’t come out to be very true. This makes you wonder whether or not they actually are.
