If you find yourself suffering from senioritis, you are not alone. Many students before you have lived with this condition - some a lot longer than others - and many will after you. Here are some words of wisdom to help you power through. You're halfway there.
Sleep is your friend
Seeing as you still start school at 7 or 8 AM, staying up until midnight every night probably isn't the best idea. You're not in college just yet, so save this sleep schedule for later. (Pro tip: more sleep will keep you healthy so you don't get mono during senior week like I did).
So is coffee
If you're still finding yourself sleepy in the morning, or you do have to stay up late for some reason, don't be afraid to have some coffee. There are coffee shops on every corner for a reason. Just make sure you bring a water bottle to balance it out afterward, especially if you have practice after school. Dehydration isn't fun.
And naps
Ah, naps. I don't think there is anything better. If you haven't taken one since the times when your mom had to force you, I suggest you start. After school or after practice, they get you through. They are a staple for your survival.
More work, more problems
So you've probably started to let things pile up. A lot. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you really can't keep ignoring it. You have to do it sometime. (Or you don't, but if you've worked this hard up until this point... Why give up now?). So just do it.
Try to make things fun
It's a lot easier than it sounds. It might be difficult to do fun things during school - but if you have a study period or lunch with your friends, try to come up with something new to do during that time instead of your same old routine. (EX: potluck at lunch because everyone loves food).
Enjoy it while you can
Even though getting the last day of school is the #1 even on your countdown list, you don't realize now how different everything will be. The kids you've seen almost every day since preschool will soon be starting their own life. Make the most of EVERYTHING, build new bridges, and don't take the time you have left for granted.
Motivation is key
Find it wherever you can. Post-it notes, backgrounds on your phone, reminders that you're awesome. Anything it takes.
The end is almost near
The spring will fly by faster than you think. Before you know it you'll be shopping for your new room and having pool days with your best friends. Hang in there. You got this!
