A great trip to Pennsylvania is what I enjoy. The fresh air is so clean, I feel like a million bucks when I go there. I love getting to drive on the dirt trails and hike through the woods. I sometimes go on my own adventure when I go up. I grab my fishing pole and my worms then I look for a spot to hike. One time I went on an adventure I soon wouldn't forget.
As I was coming over the Digman's bridge I saw an awesome fishing spot off to the side of the road. I followed it down till I got to the Delaware river. I have my fishing licenses on me because it's always good to be ready to fish. I had my fishing pole so I parked and I began to have some cast off the side of the shore, soon after a few minutes, I had a bite. I started reeling it in. What was it? I couldn't tell as it was getting closer it began to pull on my reel more and more. Just then a nice size smallmouth bass broke the water and jumped out. I thought I had this monster of a bass, yet when he struck the water the line snapped. Upsettingly I turned away from the river and began to walk back to the car. I knew if I couldn't get a bass I will try for a trout.
A little further down is my hidden stream about a mile in the woods. I follow the path my father taught me. When I got there the river was high which was good because it would allow the trout to come down stream. I found a deep hole in the stream where I know that the trout sit and prepare for falling insects from the trees. I cast my line right in the pocket and just waited then hit right away. It was a nice rainbow trout. I love trout it is delicious. Some lemon juice and a grill you can make a really good trout. I usually grill my trout in tin foil with the lemon juice under the trout it comes out the best.
I didn't keep it because I believe in the sport of it and catch and release. If it comes close to the end of the day I may take one home but that is it unless I'm with my father. When my father takes me hiking through the woods to find a nice fishing spot I find it relaxing. My father has taught me a lot about fishing actually he taught me everything about fishing. I'm the fisherman I'm because of him. He taught me to use my setting around me as an advantage. Don't have your shadow hit the water it will scare the fish. Was just one of lines I heard a lot.
Today a work talking to a regular customer made me think of all this. He was wondering the animals that I see and he was shocked when I told him, grizzly bears and brown bears were some regulars on my journeys. Even though we try not purposely get close one day a grizzly bear cub was only ten feet away and I didn't know why my father was telling me to be quite till I turned around. He was the cutest thing in the world I whistled to the bear cub but he got frightened and shot up the hill. My father knows a lot about the woods and I love learning from him. Without my father, I would not have the love for wildlife as much as I do.
