As the semester is coming to a close I find myself looking forward to this summer. Concerts, festivals and activities keep being added to the list of things that are a must for this summer. That being said, here's a list of must do's for this summer!
1. County Concerts
Illinois has so many county fairs with great country artists. You're missing out if you don't attend a few. The best part is that they are typically only like $20 to get in and stand on the track.
2. Lake Days
Living near Lake Shelbyville has its perks of course. I plan on being out on a pontoon hopefully once a week. Oh and you can't forget the jet skis.
3. Baseball Games
There's nothing like going to a Cubs Cards game at Busch. Pre-gaming at Ball Park Village will definitely be on the list for this one.
4. Laying Out
Sure it's great to be busy all summer long but sometimes you need to take a break and just soak up some sun. Relaxing by the pool is exactly what I need more of in my life.
5. Bonfires
Living in central Illinois, there's not a lot to do. On those cool summer nights, I plan on drinking a beer with some good friends around a fire.
6. Travel
Going to college in two different towns over the past few years has allowed me to have friends all over. Summer is going to be a good time to travel and visit them in their hometowns. From making trips to Lexington to hopefully flying out west to Idaho, this summers going to be one I'll never forget.
7. Music Festivals
Is it really summer if you don't attend at least some kind of music festival? Chicago has one of the biggest called Lollapalooza. You definitely don't want to miss out.
8. Make Some Good Money
While it may be all fun and games, summer is really the time for college kids to put some money in the bank. Make sure you're managing your money and not blowing all of it.
9. Enjoy it!
Summer is there for a reason. The weathers great, you get to go home and be with your family and you don't have to be as stressed out. So use the summer to get your life together and enjoy spending time with your family before getting back at the school grind in the fall!
