With the UVA football season back and the first few games underway, I decided to point out the types of people that you would normally see at a UVA football game.
The Guys in Ties and Girls in Pearls:
These are the type of people that take this common mantra for UVA way too seriously. They are known to be in the student section of the bleachers if they don't have a prestigious box seat. You will not see them normally on the hill because it would mess up their shoes.
The Tailgater:
These people are the first to the tailgate and last to leave it. It is likely that you won't even see these people because they had to go home to take a nap in between partying during the daytime and rallying for the night's festivities.
The Statistician:
These people can be extremely helpful but you may not want to talk to them for too long. If you are unfamiliar with UVA football or football in general, these are your go-to guys. They know entirely too much about the sport and UVA, and they are too eager to share their random facts and statistics with you.
The "Doesn't Even Go Here" Guy/Gal:
These are the people that are in neither UVA apparel or UVA colors or the opposing team's apparel or colors. They are rooting for a separate team entirely. These people are a**holes.
The Stage Presence:
The Super Fan:
These people are the ones who paint their entire body and get into the game early to get the best seats. Most likely to actually bleed blue and orange. Goose Boy and Sad UVA fan from the UCLA game, I'm looking at you.
The Glory Days Alum:
These people are kind of like the tailgaters, but in their 50s. They went to the school and would love to tell you the crazy stories about what the school was like back in their day. They are normally dressed from head to toe in UVA apparel, as well as their entire parking lot tailgate spot is covered in enough UVA paraphernalia to impress Mincers.
The Children:
These are literally just children in the game. Considering that Charlottesville seems to hide its children on every day except for game days, I felt that this was warranted. The kids will normally be seen with the most amazing UVA wigs or UVA cheer apparel (Glory Days Alum normally not far behind them).
You may fall into one or many of these categories ,but one thing's for sure: No matter what "person" you fall into or what the scoreboard shows, the Hoos are always bound for a good time on game day.
