7 Thoughts Every Football Fan Has

Do you really know what goes on in a football fan's head?

Being a fan of football for almost ten years, I have seen highs, lows, and everything in between for all the teams in the league. Every team has had their success throughout the years and trust me, nothing is better than seeing your team play playoff football at the start of the new year. By the same token, nothing is worse than seeing your team hobble through game after game of losing, only to see it end in December. No matter who your team is or how they are doing, these seven thoughts will be going through your head this season.

1. How could he miss that play?

I don't care if your team has a perfect record or has lost every single game, there is going to be some point during the season that is going to make you say "What the &#@$!". Bonehead plays are some of the most entertaining parts of football and you will always have at least one to look forward to.

2. Fantasy or Loyalty?

If you are playing fantasy football, you know all too well at some point there is going to be a player from another team that you want to score. The only problem is that player is playing against your favorite team. Fantasy team or favorite team? It's up to you.

3. Play of the Year! (But not really)

Because we have favorites and we are only human, we tend to have certain biases towards our favorite teams. This may lead us to do something unnecessary such as comparing a 2-yard run play to Odell Beckham Jr.'s one-handed grab. Keep it, realistic people.

4. Why am I putting myself through this?

They say anything can happen any given Sunday. By this logic, it's safe to assume that once in a while, there is going to be a dud of a game. Full of bad play calls, terrible throws, and butt fumbles, this game is going to make you wonder why you are even watching this week. Or, if you are the Jets, why you are watching at all.

5. Pass Interference? He wasn't touching him!

Bad referees are a part of any sport. Football is the only one where they are likely to get their head torn off for a bad call by fans and coaches alike. Remember, they are human too and will make mistakes, so try to have some sympathy before you throw that brick through your tv.

6. This is our year!

The beginning of football is such a magical time filled with hope and optimism for the future. New draft picks and free agents roaming the field along with a bad taste in your mouth leftover from last year lead you to feel more motivated than ever to win. Give it some time, that feeling will fade (I'm looking at you Browns' fans).

7. Oh, the joy.

More than anything, football brings people together. Its important not to forget this and to enjoy the season no matter the outcome. Your team may be awful, but being surrounded by those you care about can help ease up the pain a little bit and bring some humor back into those interceptions.

Football season marks the true start of Fall and brings happiness to millions of fans not just across the US, but around the world as well.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
