No. A two letter word we have been taught to use since we were born. It's a short, yet very effective word to decline things we don't want. However, there are some things that happen in our everyday life that we should start saying "yes" to.
1. Forgiveness
Don't destroy yourself with the others who have done you wrong. Let yourself free and forgive them. You might even be struggling with yourself lately. Anger and hurt won't solve anything at the end of the day, but forgiveness will.
2. Newspapers
They have value. Someone worked hard to get their information or thoughts out to the public. Take some time away from electronics and read what is happening around the world. Yes, you can get all your information on your phone or TV a lot faster but reading the paper is good for you every once in awhile. Also, newspapers have limited space so they choose which articles are most important to publish, so go educate yourself.
3. Sleep
Sleep solves everything. You look better with a good nights rest and you feel better. Getting enough sleep every night contributes to a healthy lifestyle and is necessary to be a sane human being.
4. Favors
Saying "yes" to someones small favor could really help them out in the long run. We are all very busy and have our own problems that others aren't aware of. So if someone asks for help, give it to them because they might really need it. What goes around, comes around.
5. Me time
The world asks a lot of us within the 24 hours in a day we are given so it is important to find things that make us happy. Putting in lots of hours into different activities can make you look great, but you don't want to be the "burn out" friend who is always negative and isn't happy with what they are doing. Find what makes you happy and go do it every once in awhile.
6. Pizza
I know that with Spring Break coming around most people are being more health conscious. But say "yes" to pizza. It is one of the best tasting foods out there and will instantly make you happen while eating it.
7. Help
Everyday we are learning more and more how to be independent, but it doesn't hurt to ask for some help. Need advice? Ask. Need help moving? Ask. Need a shoulder to cry on? Ask. The people we surround ourselves with aren't there for nothing. They are there to support us and share memories with. They care about you. Don't be afraid to put your independence aside and ask someone for help. Somebody cares and wants to help.
